My longest ride to date -- 6.4 miles. Yay!
I have several 2+ mile routes around my neighborhood. I did one completely but instead of stopping at my house then did the one that takes me to the post office and completed it (which gave me my 2.2 green miles) but instead of stopping I did one more circuit, then added them all together.
One of these days I'll get out of the nabe, but for now it's hard for me to believe that I'm the couch potato who lived in this skin just a few weeks ago!

Rode 42 miles today on a new route to Dover MA. Had to stop a couple of times to look at the bike map but didn't get lost. Yay! It was pretty too -- woodsy in places. Then I got caught in the rain coming home, but was glad that I got in a ride as the next couple of days they predict rain.![]()
Yesterday I found a great hill-repeat loop to add to my route. So today, I rode 3 hill laps. My family thinks I've gone nuts.
Total ride was a bit under 21 miles, the average was slow, but there were those hills... and I was pretty tired at the end, but I did it.
Tomorrow, I think I'll try for 4 laps. Maybe I'll leave some of the hip flab on the side of that hill.
Give big space to the festive dog that make sport in the roadway. Avoid entanglement with your wheel spoke.

Rode 16.1 miles today on my Giro. I took it out on a course which starts will a 5 mile stretch of rolling hills. I managed the hills but boy were my thighs talking to me. Today's average speed was slow, 13.6 but I'm sure that had to do with learning how to ride my recumbent on hills and fighting a head wind for part of the way. However, it felt good to be out on the road and I'm looking forward to riding later in the week. I've decided to take my Giro with me on my trip home (Tennessee) this weekend. I'll ride it around my parent's little town, out to the park and home. I'm going to avoid the major roads for there are some big hills and I'm not ready to tackle them on this bike.
Today I had the bright idea to try to outrun a thunderstorm. I got about 2 miles into my commute and pulled off at a gas station as the lighting flashed all around me. The rain started about a minute after I pulled off. So I got to hang out for about 15 minutes or so. The roads were nice and wet, so I got that familiar swamp a** from water spraying up my backside. My normal commuter has a fender, but the rear tire is flat. So that was groovy. After class, I rode up to Performance to get new tires, then home. 26.8 miles all together. Oh and a great headwind on the way home. Blah.

Most excellent!! I believe you've tripled your mileage in the past few weeks, is that true?Originally Posted by pooks

I did an easy pace 16 mile recovery ride. My legs feel like lead after the last 3 GRABAAWR days. I tried Betagirls strategy to outrun a storm but it didn't work for me eitherGot wet the last few miles but it actually felt good. Tomorrow is a rest day.

Yes -- I started out doing a couple of miles a day, then doubled, and yesterday tripled. Thanks for noticing!Originally Posted by Dogmama
