    in the hospital

thank heaven for my handheld email/internet pda. I was admitted to the hospital yesterday and am SUPER bored. when I get back to a real computer I will post the whole story in a separate thread - there are some good lessons to be learned from it. like: just because you have some bad rides and can't breathe doesn't mean you're just out of shape or having trouble controlling asthma - especially when combined w/sharp chest pain breathing (which woke me up the night before my 85 miler) and followed by coughing up blood a few days later.

I have pulmonary emboli, which probably developed after my 6/6 - 6/8 trip to the east coast. so I have had these clots for a while and it is really lucky nothing serious happened and probably excuses my pretty crummy riding (because of not being able to breathe) of late.

I have an amazing view from my hospital window.

mp - hope you are recovered soon. my husband had a PE a few years back - got misdiagnosed as altitude sickness since we were on a ski trip when it occurred. scary stuff. hope they get your levels regulated soon and let you home.
