Lance is egotistical, bull-headed, hot-tempered, noncommittal (relationships with women), morally incorrect in a lot of ways (just in my opinnion...his spiritual beliefs are not the same as mine and that makes our morals different).

All this being said........there is no other rider out there who can punish himself day in and day out; take the heat, cold and rain; ride with incredible mental toughness and attack at just the right time like Lance Armstrong. He is committed to his training and mastering his sport because he LOVES to ride! He thrives on the thrill of attacking and leaving his opponents in the dust. No one rides like he does...thus the 5 wins of the most gruelling race in the world...all after defeating a bout with cancer that almost killed him (testicular, lung and brain cancer at that).

I guess it's like the Barry Bonds issue in baseball... either you love him or you hate him! Either way, you have to respect what he's acomplished and give him the credit he deserves. In the end, it all comes down to ability and guts...and Lance has proven he's got both.
