I do some 20-mi rides during the week before work, a 30+ ride on Fridays when I'm off, and at least 1 long ride on weekends, with the other weekend ride being whatever I can work in. My weekday rides are typically easy spin at a steady cadence, but once a week I'll do a fast-and-hard ride trying to stay at just below total blowout for as long as I can. I don't ride one day a week.

    Riding schedule

I have the luxury of being off for the summer, so I typically ride 20-25 miles a day early in the morning to defeat the heat and workday traffic (those damn trucks can be [I]nasty[I]coming up behind you!). My route depends on the wind direction - I ride into it going out and with it coming home. Since it's flat as a pancake down here, I try to find overpasses that are cycle-safe (I think there's maybe two), and I vary the route to keep from getting bored. I'm trying to ride no less than 100 miles per week, and I'm gearing up to do the 65 mile Conquer the Coast ride in September, then hopefully the Outlaw Trail 100 in October.

I try to get two 30-mile rides in during the week, and usually do a 60+ tandem ride with husband on the weekend. Wish work didn't interfere with riding.
