I rode my poor neglected mtn bike today, two rides actually.

The first was with a new group of gals that all ride together on Monday mornings. Short ride but long on fun. They all kicked my roadie butt. A neat group of gals.

But the ride was so short and I was in my car with bike and decided that I needed to ride some more since I was already out and about. So I went up one of the canyons here (Millcreek) and rode my mtn bike on the road 4.8 miles uphill to a singletrack trail (gate was closed so I had to ride the road), found a creek to wash the salt out of my eyelashes (yeah, a lttle warm), rode the singletrack (was stunned and amazed by the wildflowers along the way), rode back down the road (I think I made a speed record on my mtn bike: 36.4 mph ), passing a racer-boy roadie whilst going downhill , and arrived at the car...hot, salty-crusty, and happy.

I'm going up there again Wed with my camera, I think. The road gate opens on Sat, so I'm going to get the solitude up there while I can.

I got a hilly ride in and went 34 miles. My average speed for riding in this area is improving but still really slow. The cool thing though is a woman stopped me and asked if I wanted to go riding sometime! YEAH!!!!! It looks like I might not have to ride by myself all the time now... of course, I need to speed up so I don't hold everyone up!

It was hot and humid today so this ride kicked my b*tt!

Commuted and managed to not get a flat tire That was 19.5 miles round trip. Then I went to my granny's house to bring her some DVD's to watch, and got a flat. But I was about 2 blocks away so I just walked over and changed the tube. I really need to go buy new tires. The glass on the roads around here is killing me. 3 flats in a week. I did get to hear my grandma's stories about how she used to ride her bike all over and how much she loved it. So I figured out where the biking gene comes from at least. The ride to granny's added another 10 miles to my day. Got rained on a little, but nothing too bad. It was nice and cool at least.

Rode to and from the gym for swimming practice. The backpack's a lot heavier when it's full of wet swim gear!

I finally got out! The rain cleared for long enough to get a nice quick ride in after work! There was no sun, but no rain either. Woo hoo, I feel so much better, so much more relaxed after a bad day at work.

I did an easy 20 miles on the minuteman bike path to Bedford at back.
