...and I'm going to keep nagging until I get some pictures!

It is finally off the stand and officially on the road. My brand new, beautiful electric purple Bacchetta Giro 20 went for a spin this afternoon. I rode 11 miles with a very slow average speed of 7.7 mph without a fall. My BF did a beautiful job putting the bike together today. He built the wheels this morning so by the time I returned from feeding my animals he was ready to start on the frame. It took him a couple of hours to get it all together and tuned before he took it out for the test ride. Shortly after that he was giving me my first lessons on riding a recumbent. I'll admit it is a different feeling but I know with time, practice and patience this is going to be a great ride. I had to leave it at his place this evening for I already had my little blue bike in my car (he had to make some adjustments on it for me as well). I plan on driving into town tomorrow afternoon to pick up my new bike and of course taking it out for a short spin so that I can learn to ride it with confidence. I wish I could post a picture of it but the shot he took of it is too large. I'm so excited, I told BF it was like Christmas all over again but this time I was getting to watch my gift go from bunch of pieces to a work of art. I'm so looking forward to tomorrow!

MomOnBike:
My pictures are too large be sent as an attachment so I've added them to my BikeJournal profile. However, they are still under review (really not sure what this means) and they can't be seenWhen they get the stamp of approval I'll post a link and hopefully you can finally see my beautiful purple bike. I think I'm in love!

Your bike sounds super! Hope you log lots of miles. Have you named it yet?

I've never been one to name my bikes or cars so I most likely won't start now. If I call it anything it will most likely be known as "the purple bike." Not very original or creative I know. But who knows, something may come to me on a ride.![]()
Congrats on the new bike! I want to see it, too! If you have any sort of photo-type software, there is usually an option to resize the image. You can make it smaller that way.
If you have problems, you can email the image to me and I can help.

Thanks for the offer. Unfortunately when I loaded the XP onto my program it rendered by scanner and cd burner useless. Would you still be open to helping me out? Gosh, I would really appreciate it for I love to share my new bike with everyone (It is beautiful and I'm in love).

I'll PM you my email address - send me the pic and I'll see what I can do.

Here it is, my new bike. Thanks to fishdr to resizing it for me so I could share my pride and joy. I can't wait to pick it up this afternoon and take it out for more practice.
Awesome! Congrats!
I rode with a guy on a bike like this the other day. His name was Mike and I called him, "Mike on the Special Bike"! He had to switch to this style due to some neck issues.
I hope you enjoy riding it!

My gosh, that’s one pretty bike.
The girple.
I'm glad that was so quick! Getting a beautiful custom-built bike usually takes months. Now you can get some riding in this summer.
Gorge-a-licious! Wishing you many happy miles on your beautiful new bike! Thanks for the photo.

Oh my, that one looks fast just standing still. You'll enjoy that ride, no doubt.
I'll be looking for a purple blur going past if I'm ever in your neck of the woods.
Good job.
