I've been experimenting with this- I find that oatmeal is the best thing I can eat before I ride...
post ride I'll drink some soy beverage, with a banana- and a bit of protein powder tossed in...that seems to be good.
Today- I was really exhausted post ride- I had a bagel loaded with peanut butter and raspberry jam. And milk.

I'd appreciate any other suggestions as well!
