Sounds like this is the perfect opportunity to learn how to adjust your derailleur (front)! (Probably just limit screws.) They do get out of adjustment over time. You only need two tools: a screwdriver and an allen wrench.
Another thing...the Shimano triples have the "trim" feature for the middle chainring. It's like a smidge of an adjustment on the front derailleur. You may just need to do the smidge shift up or down on the front. This was discussed here a while back.
If you do take it into the shop, have the techs show you how to adjust it. It's super easy and a really good thing to know how to do.
