i also wear different jerseys for different rides...because of color (road=bright...mtb=subdude (my bike is orange so i am covered during hunting season i hope)) but also for another reason...mtb i get muddy!!!! the red clay around here does not always wash clean away (did i mention i hate laundry? they do not always get washed immediately...i will shower it off but sometimes that clay just won't budge) so in order to not look like a dirty slob on the road i keep my jerseys separate

gloves...i wear full fingered on mtb...fingerless on road

shoes...difference pedals so different shoes...my commuter & mtb have same cleats so same shoes on them

helmet...i have only one (i remove visor for road, put it back on for mtb & commuting)

shorts...some chamois are more comfy on road, some more comfy on mtb...depends on length of ride

i wear my lycra on my commute...depends on weather which jersey i wear...i wear a backpack with bright colors on it so i do not worry so much about bright colors on my commute but i still wear them.
