Be very careful - in my experience in the US (before I switched to a Bike Friday folding bike for travel) - I always had to pay excess baggage fees. The dimensions of most bike cases (or boxes) exceed that listed on these sites for free bicycle transportation. If you go to the airport with a bike expecting not to have to pay excess baggage fees, you could have an unpleasant surprise.
