I am 5' 7" and 182lbs trying to get down to 154. Last year I lost 20lbs cycling 4 times a week and eating tons of fresh food instead of the processed food I had been living off. Now I have become stuck at this weight so need to make a change to restart my loss. I've always cycled since childhood on and off, mostly mountain biking but last year I bought my first road bike and I'm loving the speed and instant response. Most of my weight has piled on since I left college and started work. I use to play a lot of field hockey and studied sports science at college so psychologically I still see myself as a sporty person but unfortunately physically my reflection suggests otherwise!
I find this forum very inspiring and would even love to see a sub-forum just for weight loss so it was easier to see people's progress and tips. I realise it is primarily a forum about cycling, and there are many more forums out there for weight loss, but I just think it is so cool to see how other people are tackling the same goal as me using their love of cycling to counteract their love of all thing lardy!!
In 3 months I am doing my first 10K running race to raise money for Cancer Research as my mum was recently diagnosed. I need to figure out a way to combine running training with my cycling which could be a bit tricky, but I know the 'pain' of my exercise is nothing compared to her surgery or chemo.
Anyhoo... I just wanted to say a big hi and thank you to all you motivating women here who keep me going.![]()
