    hi pam!

no.... we're not doing it... it was on the calendar... but at the time of the cut off for the cheaper prices... hubby and talked and decided to not do that one.... since we had so many organized rides planned already! (it gets expensive )

of course.... now that i'm not signed up... and the prices are up... i want to do it! figures, eh?

we MAY.... key word MAY do GMR saturday.... another rider friend is doing it.... and i haven't done GMR since getting ruby! so we MAY do it.... (notice i keep saying MAY!?) part of me thinks we need to just do a local ride for a couple hours... then spend the rest of the day catering to brie... who will be 9 on saturday! i also need to get to 3 dogs bakery and get her a birthday cake! and i think the BEST present i can give her is to NOT dress her up with a silly hat or similar! lol!

she's a good sport about it... (and knows she gets presents and yummy treats for cooperating! i even painted her toes red for christmas one year! )

You guys have not yet met my friend Richard. He is incredibly funny and keeps me laughing all the time. I sent him the Old Hwy 80 ride infor and asked if he wanted to do it. This was his response to me. PS - I am not doing the ride:

I did get your email about the old highway 80 century, are you glutton for punishment or something? That ride has and I quote "Approximately 6,800 feet of climbing over four steady grade climbs between 3 and 8%". So I guess you are going to be getting in shape this week to make that century ride on Saturday. You truly are a bacon powered cycling machine. I could probably suffer through the 50 mile ride in my current condition. So you want to do that ride and still have some energy left for your Fathers day ride on Sunday [note to everyone - I am leading a Father's Day mountain bike ride in Limestone Canyon Sunday morning if anyone is interested ~ Pam]. I don't think I can carry you to the Sinks on my back if you can't ride your own bike :-) I know, I can get you a motor bike to ride or maybe a Rascal wheel chair with big knobby wheels. No one will think less of you especially me. I will be riding my bass boat brown Uber-Rascal gas powered wheel chair with sand rail tires for those "Large Boned" individuals. I will of course have a TV tray mounted right above my tum-tum to hold my snacks. A cup holder large enough to hold a 2 litre bottle of my favorite beverage and a feed bag full of cheesy burger products. What more could a gravitationally challenged "Large" person want except for a Hummer full of burgers and fry's. Why pedal when you can drive is my motto

hey Pam... I have driven up there in my vehicle and even THAT is hard! nope... not doing it since it's a route I can ride for free anytime... plus the climbing is... well... OUCH. LOL... my riding level is NOT where it was last year... I could grunt my way thru it but I would suffer.

Instead I will be grunting my way thru trying to complete my new patio... looks like suffering is on the calendar no matter what this weekend for me...
There is a fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness".

Are you going to do it???

No, my friend Richard's advice of reason has prevailed. Probably will do a long road ride down to San Juan Cap. especially if he weather is nice. I need to save some energy for my MTB ride on Sunday.
