OMG - that is so scary. Make sure you get plenty of rest. I hope you and Silver will be feeling better soon.

The most effective way to do it, is to do it.

Thanks everyone. I do feel better at the moment than yesterday though I've only slept a little (got up at 2:30am because I couldn't sleep any more due to the pain).
I'm just waiting for the day to end so I can sleep and maintain a regular sleep schedule.

Mel! I just read this thread and I'm so glad you're okay! I can't believe that woman did not stop to see if you were okay. That's just appalling!
I hope you feel better very soon. I'm so sorry this happened to you. Let us know how you're doing, okay?
OMG, Melody....what a blessing to have your hubby with you. I shudder to think about the outcome if he had not been there.
That woman needs to have her bike confiscated....aero bars and all. Someone that irresponsible does not deserve to call herself a cyclist. Gawd, what a royal bxtch (sorry, but people like that deserve to be called bad things). Uggh!
And what's up with the first aid guy????!! sheesh!!
Hope you heal up well....get back on that bike soon!
The best to ya...

Wow Mel!
Hope you heal up soon and never have to go through that again!
How scary!
Take it easy and heal up. Hope you sleep better tonight.
WOW! Very scary!
Thank goodness you are OK.
"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather, to skid in broadside thoroughly used-up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming: WOW WHAT A RIDE!!!!"
YIKES!! I'm glad you made it out okay. I wonder if that woman had any idea what chaos she caused. Triathletes really don't belong a multi-use trail. They go way too fast on the aero bars to react to everything that happens on a trail. I think the triathletes in my neighborhood have that figured out; they train on the state route and city roads that have wide shoulders. This woman should being doing the same.
Mel
what an awful thing to happen. It's scary to think that you weren't able to
get out of the water. Did you try? or were you stunned?
What parts of you are still hurting?
After a crazy busy weekend I am just catching up with the posts.
I am sorry to hear about your awful crash. The anger in me just built as I was reading your post. It is a good thing that you did not suffer any breakage, but a shame that you had to go through such an ordeal because of some irresponsible person on a bike.
I hope your injuries mend very quickly.
