If you can read this, take a pull.
I always thought you had to say "Rabbit Rabbit" the last thing before going to sleep on the last day of the month, and the first thing upon waking up on the first of the month. The former is easy, because you can just say it again if you have to say something else before you fall asleep. The latter is harder because it's hard to remember when you first wake up.
Now I just say it when I think of it around the first of each month.
That is a lyric from one of my favorite songs and I never understood what that part meant. Thanks!!!
Ok, so now someone help me understand the 13th finger line.![]()

Blew twelve and kissed the thirteenth finger.
"Rabbit, rabbit," on the first.

Rabbit Rabbit - gosh you guys are gentel

And pigs return!!!!!
Drink coffee and do stupid things faster with more energy.
Rabbit, Rabbit, how funny. I use to work with this guy about twenty years ago and we always tried to get each other on the first of the month with the Rabbit rabbit. The loser had to buy the other one a coffee. Thanks for a great memory.
Count me in! I think it's cute! i will have toask my friend who lived back east when she was a kid if she said that?

Yeah, kiwigirl and Tee Ell - I remember all that
We used to say just "Rabbits"; but my Mum grew up in rural Southland![]()
All you need is love...la-dee-da-dee-da...all you need is love!
That is SO funny! My husband is from the west coast and he says "rabbit rabbit rabbit" on the first of every month. Even if we're sleeping in different cities, I'll get a message on my cellphone with that phrase! He's got me doing it too!
White rabbits here too! Every first of the month... before midday... (but had not heard of rabbit rabbit)
Thanks Geonz for the links to explain it![]()
But I guess I'm a few days late now...![]()
Courage does not always roar. Sometimes, it is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying,
"I will try again tomorrow".
It's never too late! Go ahead, say it!![]()

My first thought was when i saw this thread was "gee didn't we used to say that at our girl guide/pathfinder campfire when the smoke came our way???"
hmmm..must ask my friend what the actual word was then...quite curious ....

When campfire smoke gets in our eyes, we always say "I hate rabbits" or "I hate white rabbits".Originally Posted by crazycanuck
