I have a 'generic' list of the things we always need/use. This way, I can set DH to the task of marking off what we already have on hand, so that he's 'helping'.

It's in an excel format so I've made a .gif out of it:

    lol.. what a thread...

I have areas and flesh them out depending on what's on sale or interests me:

    Weekly:
    -beans, legumes and/or lentils
    -rice and/or grains
-oatmeal - usually irish/steel mill style
    -soy dogs
    -fresh fruit in season
    -fresh veges in season
    -potatoes
    -bananas
-meat - tends towards poultry, but i love buffalo burgers
-bread (whole grain, nine grain, the heavier the better!)
    -nut butter (usually peanut)
    -goat's milk
-something sweet and bad for me
    -cheese
-something processed and great for ride food, cookies, or such

    Periodically:
    -olive oil
-coconut oil (used for cooking, wonderful enhancing flavor for any meat!)
    -condiments, salad dressing, marinades, etc
-healthfood store versions of macaroni and cheese
    -eggs
    -flour (whole wheat, spelt)/cornmeal
-sugar (fructose, or something equally "health concious")
-honey - love raw when i can get it. so do the ants
-rice milk (great for when I need something and there's no goats milk)
    -pasta
    -alacer electromix
    -canned soups, trader joe's stew
    -frozen veges
    -clif bars or equivalents
    -yeast
    -salt and spices

    All Bran cereal
    Bread
Cream cheese (sometimes I buy light)
Apples - other fruit that is cheap
    Hot chocolate
    Spinach and sometimes baby carrots
    a HUGE tin of Coffee

Yikes... Maybe I should take a lesson from your shopping lists
