I have a Chuck Harris original on my helmet and it's not very likely to ever come off. (He makes them from old spokes and discarded glass & trash.) My store-bought ones did alright, but would in a year or two lose their stiffness and a stiff wind would move it around. (OTOH, the Chuck Harris one is a little harder to get adjusted.)
I like the helmet one because I can move my head and direct the thing - but it's individual. Some people don't like the quick shifts from near-point to far-point vision.
