    New articles posted on TE

We've just posted some new articles on triathlon on the TE website. Two weeks ago, a group of us in the office did a local tri together.

For Abra, it was her first time. You can read about her adventure here:
    http://www.teamestrogen.com/articles/triathlon_abra.asp

For Molly, it was her second tri. She wrote a great article about preparing for her first tri, which was in 2005. Read her story about how she trained here: http://www.teamestrogen.com/articles...hlon_molly.asp

And finally, we've created a "tips" article on how to get ready for The Big Day, here: http://www.teamestrogen.com/articles/triathlon_tips.asp The photo accompanying this article is of four of us here at TE: Me, Molly, Abra & Renata.

    Hope you enjoy reading.

Hi! I haven't read the first two articles, but I read the "tips" sheet today.

Reminded me that I almost killed myself in the tri on Sunday, attempting to zero my odometer as I cruised out of transition. ARGH! I rode up onto the curb and nearly fell over, clipped in, of course. My heart rate must've been about 200 at that point. I'm sure I added a minute to my ride when I caught myself, unclipped, said, "Get a grip", zero'd the odo, and headed back out on the course. I imagine it was amusing to watch, and made some volunteer think, "Really, these people should learn to ride a bike before they sign up for a triathlon!"

I'm looking forward to reading the personal stories! L.

Thank you for that! I loved the articles (glad to know I'm not the only one who feels like a freak the day of a race).
    Thanks for sharing!

And Lise, I've been there, done that. Not in an actual race, but once when I went riding at the very crowded lake. I'm sure I made someone's day and they went home to tell someone about the "crazy bike lady."
As long as I make someone laugh every day (and I usually do by making a fool out of myself), then I'm content...

    Great motivators

    Susan,
The articles were great, they arrived via a TE newsletter in my email inbox precisely when I was in a big slump this past week (and for the last 2!) on my training for a mtb race and du this fall....in the midst of a move back to the US, my training has taken a huge nose dive...and the bikes were packed up this week too So esp after reading how Molly got into run shape and the concise training program, I've at least picked myself up a bit again. Not 100% yet, but working on it Thanks again, the articles are great to read.

Both great articles! And they both did such a great job!

Yea, I understand the nerves that come before competition. I get them so bad. This last time though (my 5th event)... I only got them the morning of. Instead of days before.

Thanks for the heads up on the articles! Thanks for having such a wonderful site!

Thank you for providing the links to these great articles. I am getting ready for my first tri and found them so helpful.

Lise, good recovery on your bike transition and a great reminder for me to zero my odometer. I forget all the time. If I went up on a curb clipped in I would have surely fallen.

If I had fallen, it would've been a first for me. I ride around the city clipped in, and have yet to fall (knock wood). Would've been pretty funny (or...not so funny.. ) if I fell over, clipped in, at a tri, attempting to zero my odo! L.
