Yea, I do not like the driving thing either - and rain has yet to make me uncomfortable.
I left work a little early, which was good, since a rider appeared behind me... and asked if I was going to the middle school... oh, because yes, there was a meeting there about transportation goals for the county that I was supposed to attend :-) Then the other Xtracycle showed up...
Dodged rain very successfully, including some wild stuff.
Now it's time to get ready for the Horsey Hundred (but have to tidy up that house I've been sitting... and ... decide how much kitty-cat stuff to take away since the poor thing is no longer with us... I reckon I *should* empty the litter box!!

I was bummed yesterday beacuse my light blew up a bulb . I work late, so I usualy do an hour staring at 5AM. went to REI last night and bought a cheapie light, and got my usual ride in. I really only need it for about 15 minutes right now, and I did order bulbs for my cygo light. It is nice to be up at the crack of dawn and see the sun come up over the mountains.

I went riding at lunch time. The guys at work thought I was nuts because there were storm clouds everywhere, but hey, I needed to clear my head from this job! This is my hilly route and it started off good. Then it started to sprinkle a bit. Still not too bad. There's two really big hills on this route and I cleared the first one strong but there was road construction on the second one. Down to one lane and the sign turner guy was talking to a farmer on a tractor and not paying attention. Now I'm coming down a good hill with another right in front of me and I don't want to have to slow down. So I'm saying "is it ok to keep going?" "Hey, can I ride through?" "HEY!!!" Finally, after I slow way down he picks his head up and says "yeah, go". DUH!! I was not happen and the second hill was a tough climb with no momentum.

Then the heavy rain started. This is the first time I've ridden my road bike in the rain and I really enjoyed it. It was peaceful and even though I was soaked, I really didn't feel wet. I felt invincable! Total distance was 14.3 miles and the only bad side effect was a bad hair do for the rest of the afternoon, lol.

    even in the rain

Last night, after not commuting on the bike because of the rain, my husband came home and we were discussing dinner. We had no veggies at all.

I said we need veggies, I think I'll go to the local veg. stand to buy them, I'm thinking of riding. (it's only a mile) he said, in this weather?? I double dog dare you!

well when someone says THAT to you, you just HAVE to ride, so I got my gear on (raincoat, helmet, gloves, "sun" glasses) and he said
    "you're really going?"
and he wanted to go with me. But he'd left his helmet, bike shoes, etc at his office.
So he grabbed our 27 year old son's fixie bike and went up the hill with me to the store and back. !!!!
