    Question July ss

Thanks LL for all of your work. Why don't we keep the same ss for three months like before, just change what we are sending? Much less work I would think.

I agree! That would be much simpler. If you get new signees, then pair them up as they come in and include them in the current round.

uforgot and fishdr, if you search under secret sisters, there was a thread on secret sisters where people talked about the issues of having the same secret sister for 3 months.

there were financial concerns about being locked into having to participate for 3 months, when income may not always allow to participate for those 3 months. in that thread, it seemed like a lot of people preferred the flexibility of being able to opt in or out on a monthly basis, rather than on a quarterly basis, for the financial reason; because it also allowed newbies a shorter wait period to join (fishdr - I liked your point about how to incorporate newbies which addresses that concern); and because it allowed TE gals more chances of getting to know others. based on those reasons, it was suggested that we TRY a monthly secret sister, rather than a quarterly one.

when i signed up to take on the secret sister signup from the last person who ran it, and having not participated in it before, i was just trying to follow those guidelines. Having tried the monthly approach, i've been getting a mixed bag of comments on it, and it seems like there just is no easy answer on how to run this thing. there were some people who live out of the USA and wanted a secret sister for 3 months due to postage costs. i had no problem with it. and it worked out cause there were other people who were in the same situation. on the other hand, there also were other people who had been wanting to join in, but could only do it for a month, and were really happy and excited to be able to finally participate this time around.

the only thing i can think of is 2 secret sisters lists - a quarterly one and a monthly one. but i could see that getting really confusing too...

anyway... whether secret sisters should revert to being a quarterly thing or continue being a monthly thing can only be answered by the people who participate in it, so what do you say TE gals... perhaps we should vote on it for once and for all cause it seems like the debate could just keep going and going.

Makes sense LL. I had forgotten about the financial issues. Monthly makes more sense in that respect. At the same time I understand the shipping issues. I'm happy either way. Makes no real difference to me.

    Hi,
I finally found a bottle from one of the local bike shops that has it's logo printed on it and I sent it off with a package of one of my new favorite ride snacks. I hope my secret sister likes it - it has to travel across the US so it will take a few days. Has anyone else gotten their packages? I too am still eagerly waiting (much like my secret sister - who will be getting hers soon).

I haven't sent mine, either, because, as Lise knows, I suck!! But really, I have the bottle, and the treat, but I want to get something else, and some pretty wrapping- so if you're my SS, sorry, but you'll have to wait until conditions for present-sending are perfect!
