    I spilled the Beans (literally)

Here is a sad little story. Hubby bought me a case of Sports Beans for Mother’s Day. (Lime and Orange) I decided to do a 20 mile ride last night. I know, not exactly an endurance ride for many of you, but my longest ride this year. Remember, I’m in Michigan where we do not have wonderful weather to ride all year like some of you gals. Anyway, I decided that I’d take a pack of my beans with me as I had never tried them before. I opened them and put them in my back jersey pocket. About half way through my ride I decided to try out the beans. I had the orange ones with me and they are really good. I love Jelly Bellies anyway. I had devoured about half of the package when I heard something fall to the ground. After about another quarter mile I realized that it was the package of beans that had escaped from my pocket. I turned around and rode back to retrieve them. Just as I spotted them on the ground still in their little bag a van came by and ran over my poor little beans leaving them flattened and scattered all over the road! Oh well, another eleven bags to go! I think I’m hooked. They have to taste better than some of that goo some people use.

Oh, the poor beans! At least you have most of a case left! I have some lemon lime and fruit punch ones, can't wait to try them, saving 'em for a special ride.

Poor little beans! Songlady, you must not save them for a special ride but enjoy them on every ride! They are SO good!!

LOL - Im pretty good at showering myself in them (need to work on that opening technique) - people going past there later must wonder why the road is littered with tiny little beans.
They sure work better when I get them in my mouth.

So sad that they were almost within reach...and then....squashed.

You guys- you have to buy a pair of elusive Trashy Cat shorts, so you can get the free Trashy Cat Coin Purse, which you attach inside your Bento Box with the little chain, which you then fill with two bags of assorted Sport Beans, which you then munch at your leisure!

Otherwise, aerobars let you use two hands to open things...

Great! Since they only come in XS anymore, now I have to lose 40# just to be able to eat Beans on the bike!

Thanks for the tip Nanci - it would be good to eat more than I drop.

I believe I am now addicted to the beans. I can't say I notice any real benefit of eating the beans, but I like them just the same. It's kind of nice to have something to actually eat while riding.

Those packages can be hard to open. I've been opening them and dumping them in my right jersey pocket. No packages to worry about and I just reach back whenever I need a bean. My friend puts hers in a Ziplock bag. You must do whatever you need to do to have the beans!

The factory is about 1/2 hour from my house. We organized a bike ride there a few months ago. It was a lot of fun!

Bento box is a container that attaches to top tube behind the stem.

    Thanks liksani,
I'm now the proud owner of a bento box - it's in the mail!

Bento box didn't work on my bike. I was very sad! I have to use something on my handle bars instead. For some reason where my upper tube and my lower tube meet they are welded together so there is like a 5 inch tube. so sad!
Blessed are the flexible, for they shall not be bent out of shape.
