I ship bikes every summer, and have had the best luck with fedex ground. The only other company I used is UPS, and they are rougher. I had them damage some ohter items, not a bike but lab notebooks. I do summer research in woods hole so ship stuff annually, and the guys that work the loading doc also advised me to use fedex ground vs ups for my bikes. In fact, they refuse to ship bikes ups due to not wanting to fill out all the damage claim forms. Sorry, but I have no experience with DHL.
