    Danskin Tri Report....

    To disable ads, please log-in.

    Hey everyone,

Finished the Danskin tri in Orlando this weekend. It was a fun race, and it went by so quickly that I didn't even realize that I was going to finish until I turned the corner and saw the chute.

My time was good overall, finishing in 1:09, probably would have done better if I had not tried to put my sock on upside down in T1, and had to stop in the during the run and go to the restroom. (Note to self: don't drink 2 cups of coffee before the race.)

If anyone is wondering about doing a Danskin Tri, I would definately say go ahead. Especially any newbies. You cannot ask for a better first tri.

Thanks so much for all the encouragement and good advice!!!! It really made a huge difference.

Glad to hear it was fun and over before you even expected. 1:09 sounds like great time to me! What were the distances? Was it an indoor or outdoor swim? Was Mouseland fun? I second the request for pictures! L.

    Way to go!

So, when is your next one scheduled?

OH, and post pictures when you have them!

Don't sell yourself short -- 1:09 is an awesome time! And at the Magic Kingdom no less, what a great choice. I hope you're hooked!

Here's the link to the Danskin Orlando page: http://www.danskin.com/danskinonline/disney.html

Race Distance: Swim - 1/4 Mile, Bike - 9 Miles, Run - 2 Miles. The swim is in the "Lagoon" -- definitely not a pool, but 78 degrees, toasty!

Good news for you (and me), Knotted, the Seattle Danskin is a little longer, so you can feel a little better about your estimate... though I think Orlando would have been more fun, and I still think 1:09 is an awesome time either way!

Seattle Race Distance: Open Water Swim - 1/2 mile, Bike - 12 miles, Run - 3.1 miles

Back to the topic at hand -- congratulations again, and we do look forward to the pictures!

Thank you for saying sweet stuff...
But the girl who REALLY rocked was the 15 year-old who WON with a time of 44 minutes!!!

DH watched her cross the finish and quickly calculated that she had done less than six minute miles the whole race!!!

Distance was 400 m swim. 10 mile bike (website said 9, but several girls in my pack had bike computers that were reading 10 ) and a 2 mile run through the Magic Kingdom. They let us run through Cinderellas castle, which is currently closed to all guests because of some special show they are doing . I was so psyched because that was really what I trained for, to run through the castle.
Overall, Disney was great. The kids and hubby had a blast. Anthony Travel did all the arrangements for the particpants, and the rooms were affordable and the resort was beautiful.
The pics from the race are not on this computer, but as soon as I get to my laptop, I will post them.
Next race is coming up in about three weeks, if I can work it out with my daughters swim meet schedule.

You ran through Cinderella's castle?!? Wow! Somehow my run out and back around the warehouses behind the YMCA on Sunday won't be quite that magical! BUT, there is a replica of the Leaning Tower of Pisa out in front of the Y. We should run around that! Looking forward to pictures. L.

    Hi, here are the pics...
The kids and I at swim start the day before, T2 (I was thirsty!) and post race with my daughter and my super hubby/coach. Family members were not allowed in the park itself during the race, so we are waiting on photos from the company that Danksin hired..Click image for larger version.
