Crocs shoes

I'm a Keen's fan. LOVE THEM!!!! I was a die-hard Teva fan until I found Keens. Bikerchick68...is there a Nordstrom Rack down in San Diego? I found my three pairs of Keen's up here at the Costa Mesa location last year. I have the Jamestown, Jamestown slides and the Seattles...which I live in. I could do without the Jamestown slides, I wish I had just gotten two pairs of the Jamestown since they are easier to hike in. Oh...my point about Nordstrom Rack was that you can usually find them for half price there. If I recall correctly I paid under $50 for each of my pairs.

Just a little update . . . I purchased a pair of Crocs and I must say, they're incredibly comfortable. Actually ended up ordering an additional pair - one for gardening and the other for casual wear. I'm hooked. Although, I may have to invest in the Keen's now - they look comfy as well.

I love my Crocs too!

One caution though...they tend to be a bit slippery when it's raining, so I would be leary about using them while rafting etc. Other than that, since I bought my first pair over a year ago, I rarely wear any other shoes, except of course my Sidi's

I have wide feet 7.5-8 D, so they are very comfortable for me. I have the Women's M (8-9).

Just wondering....

My mom has diabetic neuropathy & has tried many types of shoes, but, she still suffers quite a bit.

She's not "old" (74), but, because of her symptoms, she's not 100% steady on her feet. She said that sometimes the bottom of her feet feel like cardboard & that hundreds of bees are stinging that area. (numbness, burning, stinging).

Do you think she might feel too unbalanced on these?

Hi Denise,

I've been with several people that when they first try on Crocs, they don't like the "nubs" on the inside of the shoes. They try them on, and then decide they don't like them. These are people without the problems your mom suffers from. Those "nubs" might either make her feet hurt worse or maybe could help, but I don't know...

As far as stability, I feel stable in my Crocs. And they are also wide as Nanci said. If your mom has a narrow foot, that could be a problem, but I would ask an "orthopod" to see what they would say about any stability issues, etc.

I saw tons of friends wearing them at a music gathering last month. I tried some Crocs on last year, thinking of buying them. Now, my second toe is slightly longer than my big toe, and the Crocs have a hole RIGHT EXACTLT THERE, so that my second toe sticks right out the hole in front!!! Too weird. They seemed AWFULLY wide and floppy even when I had on a pair short enough for my toe to stick out. I have long narrow feet with high arches.

I'll stick with my trusty high-arch Keens, thanks...

I tried the Crocs, but found them too wide and stiff. Check out Holey Soles. Mine are sooooper comfortable! I wear a 5 1/2 or 6 shoe and got an XS. They fit great, have good support, good traction on wet and uneven surfaces, dry quickly, and for me are much more comfortable than the Crocs

I got a pair of Keens for canoeing last year. They are very stable and non slippery, but they are heavy. This year, I was looking for a pair of very light sandals to bring on my bike tour, because the lunch stops are "on your own," i.e. the support van will not drive up to give you your shoes like they did on my last tour, and I don't want to walk around in my road shoes. I ended up buying another pair of Keens, in a different style. They are the ones in the Terry catalog (or maybe it was Athleta). I didn't want to buy them on line, though, because I had no way of telling how much they weighed. On a whim, I went into a shoe store in Concord center that sells mostly European brands and is super expensive. There were the sandals, on sale! I have been living in them all summer and wear them as soon as my bike shoes come off. My husband is so jealous that he can't find anything like them in men's sandals.

Thanks for your info on the Crocs shoes...

If there are 'nubs' on the inside of the shoe, I can't imagine that for my mom she'd find them comfortable at all.

She is in so much pain and more often than not, can't wear anything on her feet - (which can lead to serious problems...) I was just hoping that these might be good, since I've heard so much about them.......
