I'm not sure, but I think 9 stitches qualifies as something more than road rash, like, um, {thinking hard - steam coming from ears} stitches?

I'm sure your boys are impressed, too.

    Heal well.
Give big space to the festive dog that make sport in the roadway. Avoid entanglement with your wheel spoke.

Btw, can anybody give a scar elimination advice. I am still batteling my road rash scars from my March crash. I am using everything that I can. But at this point I cannot even think of wearing sleeveless tops. And I live it Phoenix! It's too hot.

    Anti-scar stuff

    Lenusik,
Oh my gosh, I don't know how I missed the story about your crash. I went back and read about it since I was curious about your scars.

Here's a list of what I've used for scars:

Neosporin Scar Solution or any version of silicone sheets. The pressure helps prevent scarring. That's why burn victims wear pressure suits to limit scarring.

    Mederma Cream

Vitamin E oil capsules. Cut them open and massage into skin. I also have a theory about massaging. I think it increases blood circulation that could quicken healing.

Yes, I crashed at the end of March, two days before my BD. No cute dresses for BD outing for me.

I am trying these Neosporin sheets and hope that they will help. I guess, i just don't have enough patience and what my scars to heal faster. I just need to wait.

    Scar Elimination

I agree with Shimpie's suggestions, especially massaging the contents of Vitamin E capsules into your skin.

I also recently read a recommendation for Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Scar Serum with Vitamin E (though I have not tried it personally). A gal purchased it for her C-section scar and discovered it's improving her stretch marks, too. "noticed a dramatic improvement in the overall look and feel of my abdomen after just a few days of using the serum. It’s super oily and greasy and takes forever to fully rub in, but at less than 12 bucks? I ain’t complaining." I can't say that it's guaranteed to work for your scars, but it may be worth a shot.

In the meantime, don't be afraid to show those scars off. You earned them while being a tough cookie! While the world might say we should view them as unattractive, they are a sign of your active and healthy lifestyle (my knees have had uglier years, for sure). And thankfully, for the esteem, they will fade. Best wishes for a speedy recovery. (And I'm also glad that you and sydney did not have more serious injuries.)

Thanks a lot for the wonderful advice. For a long time I had to cover the scars because they were merely scary wounds. Didn't want to scare people off But now they are ugly pink color, which is OK. I can dela with it. My husband keeps on telling me :"chicks like scar". I don't know why he would say this, but it's funny.

If you tan easily, you'll need to keep your healing skin out of the sun too. Sorry, another reason you might have to keep the sleeveless jerseys in the dresser a bit longer.
