BTW...I'm planning to ride with you and Tracy on the 29th...I can't wait! She said you're planning to do around 40 miles, is that right?

Oh...and I have another question for you since you ride around here all the time. I'm signed up for Cool Breeze in August and it says that there is 1400 feet of climbing on the metric century and 3500 feet on the century. Can you give me suggestions for hills around here that I could train on that would be comparable?
Cool Breeze is a great ride but is hilly (well really its very flat, very hilly in the middle and then very flat). But we also have some great hills to train on. Newport Coast comes to mind. I had a friend, training for the Ride Around The Bear, who rode up and down NC for 8 hours in order to simulate the Bear and the same amount of climbing (approximately 9000'). But she's crazy. Ride down the coast to Dana Point. Definitely ride through Mission Viego and Laguna Niguel (suggested ride - down PCH, up Laguna Canyon to El Toro. Take ET to Aliso Creek Parkway climb up and then down to La Paz, head North to Moulton Parkway, turn West, head back.

If you check the BCI website under rides - see Sunday - find one with at least the same amount of climbing. The route slip is there and you can print it off.

As to the 29th both of you remind me as the day gets closer. I'll send you the route slip before hand once I fingure out a good place to meet. The ride will be very slow and easy, casual, made for talking. Most likely up to Huntington Beach from Irvine or Tustin and back. Will it be weird for you to ride towards home and then away????
