Good effort, Beta!! Sounds like atrocious conditions and that stinks when your bike's not working and you're afraid you're doing more damage to it by riding.
Are you thinking of the other 300k next weekend?

beta--seriously?--worms?One of the things I bought at Performance is a chain cleaner dealy. I don't have a stand. I'll probably just take the Larkspur out on the cement patch in back of my building, and practice. It will feel good to care for her like that. L.

Beta Girl- And we thought we were suffering the 90 degree weather yesterday! Thanks for the write-up. Yes, you did do the right thing.
Re cleaning- My best cleaning solvent so far has been Simple Green. It will get all of the gunk out of your derailleur as well as clean up your chain! I just use a about 1/4C in a bucket of warm water. It's biodegradable, so environmentally friendly as well.
Keep us posted on your next adventure! You guys are really getting it out there!

If Simple Green is environmentally safe, does that mean it won't hurt the worms?
