We tend to get the train out of Munich first for long rides and avoid the boring bits, so it´s not too far at all.
We have also skied through Linderhof (another one of mad King Ludwig´s castles) in winter, but I did´t have any photos of that handy.

    Switzerland is lovely...

Alpinerabbit -- you are one lucky bunny...my HB and I over Easter weekend drove thru Germany, stayed in Heidelberg area and then onto Switzerland for 5 days. We spent some time near Zurich and were in awe of Lake Zurich, it was caribbean blue. Then we stayed in Glarus to visit with an uncle in Schwanden and it was stunning. We hiked and hiked, drove around, saw the Wallenzee (sp?) and it was stunning. The waterfalls coming off all the mountain sides are so spectacular to look at as the snow begins to melt. IT is such a beautiful country!!!
    Ride like a girl.
