Pretty. Am tempted. Even though I follow the Betty Rubble/Wilma Flinstone shopping credo ("chaaarge it!", haha) and go for quality stuff, that is way too expensive for a jersey.

Yes, I am the person who paid for the wicked expensive LG shorts, and I'd do it again. But $150 for a jersey?

PS You can see the specs on TE. It's made by Castelli.

I might get close to $100 if it were wool.
There is an orange LS wool jersey at www.ibexwear.com for $125. I'm waiting for that puppy to go on sale.
Meanwhile I'm happy with my LS wool Ibex t-shirt. (that was $36, much easier to handle!)
Why do men get more choices in biking clothes than women? I thought WE were the clothes-horses? Even Ibex: men have 5 jerseys to choose from, women have 3.

Does it have wings at the back?
$150 it should have.
Im with you, dont mind paying extra dollars for shorts but that is a bit much for a jersey.
Now if those wings are included I might change my mind.![]()
The most effective way to do it, is to do it.

Shorts yes, jerseys no. No usually much performance to be gained in really expensive jerseys while there is in shorts.

If Assos suddenly produces all those wonderful eidelweiss and cow jerseys in women's sizes I'll be the first in line.

Paid 120$ for a zerorh+ long sleeve... but for a short sleeve? nope. Not for Assos either - they are swiss but what's the big deal? are the pants really that good?
It's a little secret you didn't know about us women. We're all closet Visigoths.

I could see plunking down the big bucks, which for a jersey, in my mind, is about $70 max, for a really special jersey either from a very special event (like LRRH) or group (Amici Veloci rulz!), or supporting a good cause or a favorite vendor/LBS/website (bikejournal.com), or even if it's a particularly lovely design (I've purchased a couple of pricey but beautiful sheebest and sugoi jerseys that I had yearned for mightily... from TE of course
).
Oh yeah, and I paid quite a bit (I forget what, but the price gave me pause!) for what became my absolute favorite jersey, a very fine merino wool solid blue WollyWarm jersey from Rivendell that I wear nearly nonstop from November thru April. I get so much use out of it, it is a bargain relatively speaking.
The rest of my jerseys are the el-cheepo solid color Performance and Supergo 2-for-$15 specials.
Yep, I'm with you Jo. I've got some jerseys that I just had to have.

Wow! I've lost 8 pounds since this picture.

I wish i had ordered the LRRH one in sleeveless. I've come to the conclusion that the sleeved season, but not wool season is SO short here. And a bolero is perfect for making up the difference.
Oh well.

My cycling friend and I signed up for The Leukemia and Lymphoma's Team in Training. We've already done centuries but us MidWest girls have never done anything as cool as Tahoe! The price tag for Tahoe is a minumum of $3900 per person raised. Fundraising has been hard, really hard and our event is less than a month away! I can't (and don't want) to know how much time involved and money out of pocket has gone towards our fundraisers!
I know I sound like I'm whining but it's really a great cause. Our coaches have us doing really hard hills in preperation and everytime I start to say this is hard, I'm reminded by a voice in my head, how much harder it would be to be diagnosed or have loved ones diagnosed with terrible diseases.

The Tahoe ride is a great ride. The scenery is gorgeous when you're by the lake. The trip out to Truckee and back is bland. I'd skip that section, unless you really want to do a century. Part of it is on a bike path. Kind of scary with that many riders.

If you just feel you have to splurge, get a report on the fabric. I love the fabric in my Castelli Carve jersey but I looked at the sleeveless LeMans today jersey and it felt slimy, silky but slimy. I'm sure that it is personal preference but I didn't care for it. The Physio (sp?) has a completely different fabric and the LBS didn't have it for me to caress.

I got the Tobi jersey off ebay for $40. I was thinking of getting it altered.Originally Posted by SadieKate
