OOoooOOOOOh now I know what a blinky is. I think here we just call them a flashing light.

We get these georgeous little lights here called a frog. They are made by a company called Knog and they are like these little rubber things that you simply clip on. The light itself is a small LED with a couple of different settings to make it flash. They make a few different coloured lights, including red, white, and blue. Check them out:

The company is quite new, but I think they are starting to take off world wide now.

Thanks, all. We already have the standard rear and front lights, which can be made to blink. I meant only the little, cheap, round reflectors that emit a fairly weak, small blinking light so that they don't hurt eyes but make your helmet more visible when you clip them to the back of the helmet. They seem to be a promotional thing and we have never found them for sale anywhere--no website, no LBS.

    Hey Trek420 -
Thanks for remembering... I was going to celebrate by commuting to work by bike today, but the weather forecast isn't really cooperating. If I can, I'll hop on my bike after work. If it's raining, well, I guess my celebration was this past weekend's 2-day ride to Maine and back. I'll post a reference to my journal as soon as I finish uploading the pictures.

Oh, and I have one of those Fun Source LEDs from TE - very cool light...

Those Frog lights look sweet. And for those of us in the states, I found that Knog has a US site for purchasing: http://www.knogusa.com/index.html?ta...tml&lang=en-us.

Yes the knog lights are pretty sweet. They are excellent if you need something to make you stand out to motorists when it is getting dark. I also find that the white LED is bright enough to give you good visibility when you get stuck in the dark riding home. I have had mine for over a year and they are still going strong. I haven't even changed the battery yet.
