SD 60's Do Their First Century!!

I wore my new sandals on their first century (third ride ever!) Saturday: 3-State 3-Mountain. Since it was in the 50's when I started, and I knew there was going to be a fast descent in the first 20 miles, I wanted to wear my Calientoes toe warmers, but they wouldn't fit over the sandals. I improvised, and wore them over my socks inside the sandals, and they worked just fine.

This is the first Century where I wasn't dying to take off my shoes and walk around barefoot starting at 60 miles. No hot spots, barely any intermittent tingling...It's going to be hard to go back to shoes ever! My feet felt great for the entire ride.

They are _so_ worth it. I would recommend them to BF, who is always in bike shoe agony, but if he can't figure out that when they say you need "stiff" shoes, it means the soles, not the uppers (hence his disdain for the Sidi Genius I bought him, and returned!!) then he for sure isn't going to go for sandals...

Relatively speaking, anyway, the sandals are cheap, too!!
