WHOOOO HOOOO!!! Congrats, being "the shop girl" is so fun. I get up every morning and think, "I can't wait to get to work." Now if only my mother could understand that...

The only downside will be the few male customers who insist on treating you like you don't know what you're talking about because you're a girl, but the good stuff far outweighs the few jerks.

Congratulations! What an ideal combination of jobs!

There is a bike shop here in Seattle that has a coffee shop in it, I'm hoping to find it one of these weekends.

You might be thinking of R&E, up on the north end of the Ave in the U-district, near Ravenna...

yup, I think that's it! Near 52nd or something. I tried to find it one day with Mr. Grumpy Small Knot and drove by, vowing that one day I'd go BY MYSELF and have a latte and a gander at the pretties.

    Have you been there?

Knotted Yet: Yep, been there. A couple years ago when I was a really new rider, I had a private lesson there from one of their wrenches (a woman, naturally!) who taught me how to change a rear tire and repair my chain. It was all hands on and really confidence building.

MHTrek: Good going on your new job! You will be in such a great position to encourage, inspire and educate new riders, like the wrench who helped me a couple years ago.
