Whew! Scary, is right! I used to teach deep water survival to navy pilots--in case they had to eject from their airplane over water--and hypothermia is more dangerous to them than the ejection itself. You're both so fortunate.

On the other hand, I also understand the impulse for you-time. My husband retired last summer and he just about drove me crazy until he got busy with his own projects.

Glad to hear your husband is well and warm. Wow - what an adventure.

And don't feel guilty about needing time for yourself. Everyone needs that at some point or other. And if things had gotten to the point of arguing over toothbrush colors - sounds like you both needed it.

Geez that water is cold - he's very lucky to have come out of it relatively unscathed.

OMG! Ok, my brother used to live on his sailboat in morro bay, so I'm totally seeing where he prolly was- or the general area! And knowing just how cold that water is.. OY!! Someone was looking out for the both of you today. Count your blessings girlie- though I KNOW you are!! Send him my bestest warm fuzzy AZ vibes!
Oh- and I can't believe that his "friend" actually expects him to replace the pole!! If it were MY boat I wouldn't think of it! Even if he offered I would refuse.. People!!
