What a story.....I am so glad your husband is ok. I can't imagine a kayake in the ocean. My parents are boaters and when my father was looking for a boat I remember him choosing something that was "ocean worthy" as he called it.

I have the opposite problem, my husband and I do not have much time together at all. From April until Dec, the only days we have off together are major holidays and if I take a vacation day on Thursday, his day off. There has to be a happy medium for us both.

Lunch with your friend sounds nice.
