There's not a lot of seasonal variation in supermarket prices here at all because of all the importing. I end up with this whole United Nations thing going on in my vege bin - beans from Kenya, apples from Poland...
Talking about food prices, this reminds me of when I was in the States a few years ago: I fully burst out laughing in Safeway at the price of kiwifruit - they were, like, two for US$1, or something equally ridiculous.
