Summer is HERE!!!!

It sure as heck isn't summer in Chicago. Blech. (read betagirl's brevet report if you don't believe me!) I'm cranky because I just pulled the down comforter out AGAIN. I've put it away three times already...but I lie there in bed, huddled with the blanket pulled up over my head, trying to generate warmth otherwise!

it just seems like it will never, ever be warm again. Every year, the same...every year, it feels eternal! L.

I hear you, Lise, I hear you!! We have about the same weather. Right now, spring, it's usually TOO cold, TOO windy, TOO rainy, and maybe one or two days are sunny, warm, and just slightly windy. Then those are the days that you have to work and be inside!!! Drives me crazy, it does. Wouldn't you think I'd be used to it after 50 years!!?? I feel that I survive the winter. I whine through most of spring. Summer, which I adore, lasts about 4 weeks. Then we are into autumn, which while beautiful, leads us back to winter. Do I need to move to a different clime, or what???? Either that or suck it up and quit complaining. Sorry for the rant, ladies. I guess I needed somewhere to vent.

I used to live in Chicago for 7 years and can totally relate to the hokey-pokey with the down comforter. Funny thing is now that I have been living in the Bay Area for 7 years, the down comforter is a permanent fixture on my bed (must be the lack of insulation in my house and that sneaky fog, or I've become a weather wimp!). Some days I actually do miss that crazy heat and humidity! Bummer we couldn't share all the rain we got here in NoCal.

LL, this morning I woke up, sweaty under the flannel sheets, blanket, down comforter, and bedspread. I thought, "I've gotta get this down comforter off me"...and the Hokey Pokey started playing in my head!

Lise, you're crackin' me up! I just got back from my week in Indy. Beautiful weather but I was sick all week with a sinus infection. I got back Sunday night, went to the walk in clinic for drugs Monday morning, went back home and slept and finally made it to work yesterday. Then, a funny thing happened - I GOT MY NEW TREK 2100 FROM DOC!!!! So I brought the purdy thang to work today and took it for a spin at lunch in balmy 63 degree weather with a good SW wind (I can not even describe the snot rocket problem I had with the wind and a sinus infection - unbeliveable!). Anyhoo, it handles well and is much smoother than my Terry although I don't like either saddles. I'll keep comparision riding and decide which one to keep. But at least the sun was shining and I got out to enjoy it if only for an hour....

kiwi girl - yeah, this thread is kinda mean for all the Southern Hemisphere girlies, but spring took a long time to get here. Dead-arm me for my glee if you must.
