I'm pretty sure the fuzzy stuff that was waving about in front of one egg earlier today was not attached to the egg. It was something in the nest. I saw pappa or mamma turning the eggs and the fluff got pushed aside. When the eggs were turned I saw one (of the) hole(s), a smallish one. What I'm wondering now is whether one of the chirpy/squeeky noises I was hearing when the wind wasn't so loud might have been a chick chirping from inside the egg. It was more "raw" and seemed closer than the songbirds in the background. Anybody else think they're hearing chick sounds?
