Fall Color

Love seeing the fall colors! My pics are from a couple of weeks ago. We've already had the first snow on the mountain peaks.

Thanks nwg for making me think of fall color!!
Did some research work in the Mojave desert weds and thurs and spent yesterday riding into the eastern sierra nevada’s to share some of the cottonwood and aspen color

I have no idea how to get the pictures from thumbnails to big, so you will have to click on it.
There are pops of color, especially in the wetlands or cooler valleys, but today, I expected to see more in the cranberry bogs in Carlisle. I think one more week until we are at peak.

Helene, here's some more to show your DH -- make sure to scroll down to the aspen portion of the post! I agree that Colorado is crazy beautiful! It's too cold for me much of the year as I am a warm weather gal, but I can certainly see the attraction.

Our color is all but over. The trees around the house have lost about 80% of their leaves, now. Not a great color year, but I do love riding this time of year, chilly though it may sometimes be. Yup, below freezing, tonight.

If anyone lives on the prairie or has pics of the prairie grasses in their fall color, I would love to see them. Trees get all the publicity when it comes to fall color, but, being the prairie girl at heart that I am, I think the subtle color of the prairie in the fall is quite lovely.

Here in Tucson- I got nothin'..... just desert going from the summer monsoon greenish tinge to dry and browner.
