I think Lucinda Williams is a great road music choice - especially the CD called "Lucinda Williams", and my current fave, "Essence".

If you can find them, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes (punk band that does cover songs of all kinds of songs - from "Isn't she lovely" to "Nothing compares 2 you") are one of my favorites.
I always throw in some classical as well. Calms the nerves
Have fun!

I love Me First and the Gimee Gimees! Don't they do the cover of "Is She Really Going Out With Him?" I love riding my bike (or driving my truck) and singing that at the top of my lungs, over and over...

Here's some more...
Evanescence
GreenDay
Live
Norah Jones
Nanci, good to see another gimme's fanMy fav's from them are "I am a Rock" "Sweet Caroline" and "Nobody Does it Better." It's funny when you hear the original on the radio and it sounds weird.
I saw NOFX in concert a few months ago. My b/f is a big punk fan (no mohawk or the like). Actually if you looked at him you'd never guess he was so into punk. He's the one that got me into the Gimmes. Fat Mike, who I believe is still playing Bass for them, did the entire show in women's lingerie. At one point, let's just say some things fell out the side of the black panties he had on.![]()
I'd love to see the gimme's in concert. They're currently in Europe. Maybe they'll swing through town.
