If it is where I think it is then there is a reasonable amount of "pull" on the skin as you are riding. This is why you will need a couple of weeks off the bike - it is to allow the skin to heal properly and make a strong join, otherwise at the first decent strain, it will pop open again.
Oddly enough, you may find yourself cycling better after a two week break because your muscles will have had a good chance to recover and repair themselves.

I've been putting off getting it checked for almost 4 months... just SURE it would magically disappear the way it appeared... but I AM glad I went to get it checked and am having it removed.
BUT, you should see my gardens!
Since I've been home quite a bit more than normal I have done a ton of work... including beginning a second patio and laying out a recycled concrete curved path that will lead to it
I guess there's always a bright side
