Veronica, as usual Thom did a magnificent job - photos and commentary. I'll be sure to give Charlie the link. Thanks for being part of our compatible little group. BTW, what was the decision on the pom-pom?

Running Mommy, fortunately the Maze is remote enough that the Jeep Safari impact was noticeable but workable. 15 on Teapot in one day was not fun but we could work around it.

Bill, Charlie and I were the only ones who went into Moab proper. We drove into Moab at 1 am Sunday morning to find a giant sign welcoming the 40th Annual Jeep Safari. I think I posted someplace else on this forum that I am now never ever going to support Jeep products. The folks out at the Maze were somewhat polite, but the folks at Gemini Bridges didn't appear to have a clue that uphill vehicles have right of way or that there might be opposing traffic or that they should be looking beyond the ends of their noses when going around a corner or that the hordes of 4x4 idling doing gosh-knows-what at the trailheads provided lots of disgusting noise and stink. The cases of beer in the backs of the Jeeps was not impressive either. No one was going to be camping, so just when were they going to drink the beer? Jeep needs to be a bit more proactive at promoting trail etiquette.

We didn't let it spoil the trip and had a great time. Thom's photos and trip commentary really portray both the fun time and how awestruck we were with the scenery. Rim Tours also does a 4-day from the Needles District to Moab. Hmm . . . . .
