You must be getting excited, Catrin.
So, I went to an AMC bike committee meeting last night and then stayed up way too late reading. No way I am getting to step class, which starts in 45 minutes. There is also a local bike ride this morning, and one of my older guy riding friends was encouraging me to come (he does a lot of volunteer work for both clubs), but I just cannot ride when it's 19 out now, and the ride starts in an hour. I think I am going to go do a hike, maybe just in my neighborhood, because I will get in a steep climb that gets the HR up. I feel disconnected from the outdoors, I've been at the gym so much. Think I will give myself a bit of a spa day today, go get a cheap manicure after the hike, to force myself to do all of the paperwork I have!!!

I ended up hiking, it was nice out by the time I got out there. My friend, Jack, chided me for not riding. I guess I am just not tough enough like those grizzly New Englanders. Got the manicure, avoided my paperwork, and made a nice lentil stew for dinner.
It's exam week at the school I usually go to on Thursday, so I only am going to the office for one client later. Guess I'd better do that work now. Rest day.

I am getting excited Crankin - as long as I can prevent from doing something and reinjuiring my bicep in the next two weeks

I am headed out of town for a funeral. I did a KB workout at home this morning, and I am taking one with me though I don't know if I will have a chance to use it. At worst I will be taking a few days off until my return - and I hate to do that this close to the competition. I KNOW I can do it however, and the break might do my body some good.

It always works out... when I went out to CA to see my dad last June, my hip and back felt the best that it had in years. Five days of no exercise except a couple of walks after dinner with my brother. Eating good food and no snacks. And, my weight actually went down.

Went to boot camp this morning and it was really hard for me to get up out of bed. My alarm woke me up, which never happens. Whenever DH goes away, I always seem to fall asleep with the TV on, or watching the news, and then when I actually shut out the light, I can't sleep. I am exhausted, my hip hurts, and I have to sit in the car for 3 hours this afternoon, to get up to Franconia. Hopefully, I'll sleep well tonight. Here's to good x country skiing!

I am chronic insomniac....so I feel for you. Good luck and have fun on skis this weekend.

My PT/kin just sent me my program for tomorrow. I've been back on my bike for just a few times and we did a test yesterday so she can plan some fun. Sure.... with the result she got, she just prepared this for me tomorrow. That is after my hour muscle training. I think I'll die. Hahaha

It may look easy. But once on bike and with already an hour of squats, lunges, abs and arms it is going to be brutal I think for me. Lol remember I have not had that much exercise since baker's cyst rupturing. But she knows I can nail it or part of it. It's all in your head they say. Hihi we'll see. Lol

10 min progressive warm up =
5 min (10 sec with cadence over 100, then 50 sec at 80-90)
    5 min watt 120-130

    Long intervals
    Repeat 6 times:
2 min 160 watts small gear (hands in drop if ok for back)
1 min 140 watts large gear
    30 sec push/pull cadence 60
30 sec just cycling cadence 90

10 min 110-130 watts cool down
    cadence 80-90

I just purchased a Groupon to my favorite yoga studio. I've only been there about 3 times and quit going because they only had vinyasa, and I prefer hatha, but they've since added hatha classes. I'm really looking forward to it
