I'm so sorry. This is the man you mentioned a few times when we discussed all things Norwegian? It sounds like he had a good friend in you, as well.

Having family members who are Vikings I am very sorry. He sounds like a wonderful man and a great teacher. Thanks for taking such good care of him.

what an excellent example of the power of caring and kindness making soul gratifying connections...may the peace that comes with that be with him and you on his passing.....

thank you for all your kind words. Tusen takk (thousand thanks)!! And yes, he is the Norwegian I talked about in my other threads.

Come this May, I will repeat what he did to surprise me. He opened the window and in great joy yelled at me "HAPPY CONSTITUTION DAY!!" I laughed and then a quizical look. But I know now what it is. I want to celebrate his life so I will do this to an unsuspecting neighbor...

His nephew called me earlier in the evening to tell me that he has arrived in town. He drove two days straight (well almost). I will be getting together with him first thing in the morning and to help him out with what seems to be an insurmountable work ahead. We hope to make his stay a little less stressful.

I will also be sending a nice Thank You card to the people who took care of him 24/7 for the last 6 month. They were wonderful people. always very attentitive to his needs and I want to make sure they understand that their care for my friend is forever appreciated. They were the real angels.
