Thanks! Yes, I think I have to remove that rubber part; will have to cut it out somehow. I also noticed on the inside of the shoe, there's a removable metal plate with holes. I think I'm going to take them to my LBS and pay them to do it!

The removable metal plate with holes is what you will screw the new cleat into. It's not really that hard to do it yourself, but I understand being hesitant about it!
