So glad you don't mind the thread drift! I, seriously, did think--I hope Brina's not pissed that we hijacked her "I hate running" thread!Originally Posted by Brina
May I just say that I do hate running right now? It may be because I just haven't really run that much over the winter, usually 6-7 miles a week, less some weeks. Or maybe I just need new shoes. I do think I need new shoes, but that's not really it. I need to run with a friend more often. It's my head that quits long before my heart, lungs, or legs.
My ex-partner, the abusive one, bought a Beemer not too long before the end of our relationship. I was on the title, for "my own security". On the title means on the loan, of course. We'd been apart for about 8 months when I got the call from the finance company. "You're two months behind on your BMW payments." "I don't own a BMW." "You're on the loan."![]()

Long story short, to save my own credit, I ended up paying it off, giving my ex my car in exchange for the BMW. That was a $16,000 mistake. I called that car "The Resentmobile". Finally traded it in for a lovely Chevy Malibu.
I always loved Jags, they are such pretty cars. Now I actually grimace when I see one. Sigh. For such a smart woman, I can be so...foolish sometimes. L.

I have always been a Jag fan myself, but I am a much bigger fan of the classic body. The new ones have a funny front end.
BTW... Running is pretty lousy for me too. It has improved since I read about all this running technique stuff and found out that I should NOT try to run like my husband..... Boys and girls run differently.. Imagine that!!!
So here's the problem with thread drift...
I was thinking to myself - hey, I meant to look at that link on bog snorkling to see what the heck it was... now what thread was that on? Was it the screwdriver thread, no that's the one about pushups. Was it the Maze thread, no, that's the one about snakes... Oh yeah - it was the running thread, which is now about jerky guys and fancy cars!!
(of course, I also could have seached "bog snorkling" and found it pretty quick, but where's the fun in that!)
But thread drift is also why I read almost every thread when I have time - you never know where you'll end up!![]()

This thread has it all + a bag of chips. Let's see, to sum up:
~running
~sex, jerky guys
~fancy cars
~9/11
~bog snorkeling
~Happy Days
~the Eagle
Did I get everything? I'm with bikerz--the hardest thing about thread drift is remembering where somebody posted that cute picture or cool link that has nothing to do with the thread header!
I'll bet this is more common among womens' boards--it's how we think.L.
