That is the pitts. Sorry about your hubby's injuries. The hard part besides the pain is giving up on what you love to do for the season. I'm praying for him a smooth recovery.
Crankin, so sorry to hear about this. And worse to be 3000 miles away.

Let's not catastrophize about it being the whole season. Our big trip isn't until October anyway.
I am going to have to do more group rides, though, and force myself to ride by myself more. I have friends to ride with, but they are slow, which I don't mind, but I am trying to push myself a bit.
His appt. is at 1:00, so I might hear before I shut my phone off on the plane.

Just catching up on this, Crankin. Sorry to hear about DH. Everyone I know who has broken their clavicle and had surgery has been back on the bike pretty quickly. We have a teammate who broke his at a race in May, and still went on his cycling trip to France this month (though he did not have surgery). Came home and was doing a group ride with my DH, hit the deck with another rider, and THEN broke his finger! At least your DH is getting both out of the way at once.
The NEBC women's ride is still going in Lexington on Tuesday evenings if you are interested - different speed groups, and a pretty safe environment.
Sending DH healing vibes.

Good luck to your husband for easy and fast healing.
OK, I am home. DH did a lot of research before he went to the doctor and decided to have the surgery, which is next Wednesday. It's a young associate of Dr. Driscoll, who is well known around here, and did the surgery on DH's wrist in 2003. Of course they told him 12 week recovery, but, based on what DH has done before, with both the wrists and his cardiac stent surgery, he probably will be on the bike before then. He can definitely walk and do the trainer or stationary bike at the gym, as he doesn't want to be in bad shape for our trip to Portugal.
His bike is still at the Natick fire station, but I don't think there's a lot of damage to it.
Thank God for our friends. They picked him up, brought him to their house, he slept there, brought him to the appt. today, and fed him until I got home. My son could have done it, but he does not live that close.
She Fly, what time is the woman's ride? I don't get done at work until 6 on Tuesdays. There's an AMC ride on Thursdays, that I will do, though.

Won't work - the women's ride starts at 6 on Tuesday.
Twelve weeks is for someone who isn't active. My teammate was back on the trainer the week after he broke his collar bone. He'll know when he is ready. Wish him luck! And I will be in MA Fri pm to Sun AM if you need anything.
