Yesterday was a bit odd, it turned out to be sort of a rest day but not...lower intensity day I suppose

B: grass-fed ground beef cooked with mushrooms over a large bed of sauteed spinach, coffee with cream, 1 slice nitrate-free bacon
Early lunch: 1 link of Trader Joe's garlic chicken sausage, roasted carrots and roasted broccoli, 6 ounces gourmet ice cream

KB training - which turned out to be mainly stretching with some (way too light) strength work. Probably making us rest a bit after the serious butt-kicking on Monday. While I like to think I am 20 years old, my joints and ligaments are all 54 and do require a bit more recovery time. Protein shake afterwards to try and get my calories up to where they should be.

S: Another protein shake (a different one), really having problems getting anywhere near my calorie targets - even WITH the nice cream at lunch!

Before dinner, since I really didn't feel like I had worked out, I played with my kettlebells for 10 minutes after loosening/warming up. Quite light, but it felt good to move!

D: Roasted chicken, roasted kale, broccoli salad with fermented veggies

Since I can't totally resist ice cream, I've decided that I can have it twice a month - no more than 6 ounces and it has to be really high quality - that is the only thing that satisfies anyway. Twice a month appears to be working to keep my ice-cream-sweet-tooth at bay :-)

Since I woke up feeling even worse yesterday, no exercise. I spent my last day of the year at Hudson HS with clients in the AM, then went to the eye dr., followed by a visit to the Minute Clinic, where I strong armed the NP into giving me antibiotics, as I have been sick for 7 days and at this point, my aggressive over the counter actions are not working. She said the threshold was 10 days, but I made my case.
B: small amount of plain, non fat Greek yogurt, blueberries, walnuts, dried cranberries, a little drizzle of honey. Slice of spelt toast with almond butter.
    S: an apple
L: I had just enough time to stop and get a sandwich from a local gourmet farm market, before my eye doctor appt. I could have bought plain chicken salad, but I got a chicken salad sandwich, as I was really craving it, and I know that it's better to give in, when I feel sick. I sat outside and ate.
D: grilled scallops and tomatoes/capers, with a salad. another craving, so I had a small amount of some ice cream that was in the freezer.

Crankin - hope you feel better soon!

Yesterday was a true rest day - as tempting as it was to play with my KB herd at home. That is THE (only) disadvantage of having my own kettlebell herd! Thankfully they are far less expensive than bikes

    Yesterday:

B: roasted chicken thigh, 1 slice nitrate-free bacon, spinach sauteed with pine nuts in coconut oil, coffee with cream
L: more chicken in a large spinach/butter lettuce salad with more veggies, pecans and raisins. A drizzle of EVOO for dressing. Fresh strawberries for dessert
S: Coffee and a Quest bar
D: Trader Joe's jalapeno chicken sausage, more sauteed greens, 1/2 avocado, the last slice of bacon), baked butternut squash

Got closer to my calorie targets for the day, close enough for me.

I went to bed at 7:30 last night, fell asleep at around 8:30, got up at 4:30. The sinus part has calmed down, but still feel all the other achy stuff. I went to work this morning, and now I am ready to lie on the couch and read! Probably good it's pouring out. I haven't ridden since Sunday. Did boot camp Monday, walked on Wednesday. I'd better be OK tomorrow! Planning a metric for Sunday, and now my body and the weather need to cooperate.

woke up this morning, with a weight of 105.2. Lowest in 2 years. Not sure what is going on. Happy, but I worry when I lose weight with little exercise. But, I know better than to eat a lot to make up for it.
    yesterday:
B: 2 eggs, lox, spinach. blueberries, coffee
L: chicken salad with yogurt/mayo combo, dried cranberries, almonds
S: 2 slices Machengo, glass of red wine
D: one pork chop, with a crust of parmesan and Panko, roasted broccolini, 2 squares of dark chocolate

Going to skip the weekend reporting...
    Moday:
Went to boot camp, had half a banana before, then I rode to work
B: tuna in olive oil over sliced tomato, melted cheddar, blueberries
L: sautéed tofu and veggies over a small amount of brown rice, 1/2 banana
S: spelt raisin bread and cashew butter at 4, about 1/2 a Lara Bar before I rode home at 7:20 PM
D: since it was 7:40 when I got home, I looked in the fridge and could think about nothing but the left over lox and chive cream cheese, so I had that on a whole wheat bagel. A lot of carbs today, but I am still recovering from being sick, and I feel like I need them.
