I did NOT eat enough for my efforts yesterday, though my macros are fine. Overall calories were too low.

B: Grass-fed ground beef and mushrooms over a a heap-o-wilted-baby-spinach. The first of my eggless brekkies. Coffee with cream.
Early lunch (due to training schedule): One Trader Joes garlic chicken sausage, smallish baked sweet potato
Kettlebell training class - my coach had me working on my own to test my endurance with two sport lifts. 24 solid minutes of lifting with two 2 minute rest breaks. My endurance is coming along & my shoulders & neck were/are quite happy! The weight was light, of course, and I followed with a protein shake
S: another Trader Joe's chicken sausage (went home early to supervise some kitchen work in my apt and I was starving - so much that I ate it cold)
D: roasted chicken thigh over butternut squash and fermented veggies

I've my kitchen back so I can actually cook properly tonight.

I'm off for two weeks. (I'm supposed to be starting in a new lab, but they're preparing for a conference, so I'll be starting on the 23rd.) I can actually eat real food again!

    Sat:
B: Breakfast burrito (eggs, green chiles in a whole wheat wrap), blueberries, coffee w/ half-and-half and sugar
    L: Leftover pizza (pepperoni+green pepper)
    S: Pita chips, hummus
D: Homemade spinach+ricotta-stuffed ravioli w/ tomato sauce, salad (various lettuces, radishes, chipotle ranch dressing), glass of white wine; slice of cherry pie

    Sun:
B: 5 slices of bacon, one fried egg, blueberry pancakes (BF's parents bought a ton of blueberries from Costco...)
L: Hummus and pita chips, half a bottle of dry lavender soda. (Good, but weird and needs a tiny little bit more sugar.)
S: Glass of Powerade (we were washing the cars!)
    Bit of swimming
D: Steak fajitas w/ avocado and onions, half a beer; slice of angel food cake with berries for dessert; 2 glasses of homemade lemongrass soda

    Mon:
B: Toast w/ butter and a bit of lemon curd, one egg, hash browns with green chiles and cheese, blueberries, 2 cups of coffee with half-and-half and sugar
L: Hamburger w/ avocado, lettuce, tomato, pickles, squirt of ketchup; 2 small glasses of Coke
    S: Beef jerky
D: Spring mix with a large glob of tuna (mixed w/ mayo and Dijon mustard) and sliced almonds on top
S: Small bowl of cereal w/ 1% milk

    Today:
B: Half a muffin, 2 cups of coffee with half-and-half and sugar
    S: Beef jerky
L: Salad, tuna salad stuff left over from yesterday, almonds; handful of grapes
D: No idea. There's a pork shoulder in the crockpot, but I don't think it'll be done in time.

L: salad with cukes, carrots, tuna, banana
S: Lara Bar at 3:30, spelt bread and cashew butter at 6-ish.
D: chili infused tuna burger patties (no bun); They were pretty small, had 1.5, with lime aoli, roasted asparagus, sliced 1/4 avocado and pineapple chunks. 2 squares dark chocolate

another sort of rest day. Thinking I might have a sinus infection.
B: frittata with small sweet potato, eggs, salsa. blueberries. coffee
L: I went out to a graduation lunch with the foster parents of one of my long time clients, her social worker from DCF, and of course, her... had a salad, salmon tips, rice of which I ate half, and cole slaw.
Came home intending to ride, but I really don't feel great, so I went on a 2.5 mile walk.
D: poblano pepper stuffed with refried beans, brown rice, cheddar, salsa. a salad with lettuce, avocado. glass of red wine

Yesterday was a bit odd, it turned out to be sort of a rest day but not...lower intensity day I suppose

B: grass-fed ground beef cooked with mushrooms over a large bed of sauteed spinach, coffee with cream, 1 slice nitrate-free bacon
Early lunch: 1 link of Trader Joe's garlic chicken sausage, roasted carrots and roasted broccoli, 6 ounces gourmet ice cream

KB training - which turned out to be mainly stretching with some (way too light) strength work. Probably making us rest a bit after the serious butt-kicking on Monday. While I like to think I am 20 years old, my joints and ligaments are all 54 and do require a bit more recovery time. Protein shake afterwards to try and get my calories up to where they should be.

S: Another protein shake (a different one), really having problems getting anywhere near my calorie targets - even WITH the nice cream at lunch!

Before dinner, since I really didn't feel like I had worked out, I played with my kettlebells for 10 minutes after loosening/warming up. Quite light, but it felt good to move!

D: Roasted chicken, roasted kale, broccoli salad with fermented veggies

Since I can't totally resist ice cream, I've decided that I can have it twice a month - no more than 6 ounces and it has to be really high quality - that is the only thing that satisfies anyway. Twice a month appears to be working to keep my ice-cream-sweet-tooth at bay :-)

Since I woke up feeling even worse yesterday, no exercise. I spent my last day of the year at Hudson HS with clients in the AM, then went to the eye dr., followed by a visit to the Minute Clinic, where I strong armed the NP into giving me antibiotics, as I have been sick for 7 days and at this point, my aggressive over the counter actions are not working. She said the threshold was 10 days, but I made my case.
B: small amount of plain, non fat Greek yogurt, blueberries, walnuts, dried cranberries, a little drizzle of honey. Slice of spelt toast with almond butter.
    S: an apple
L: I had just enough time to stop and get a sandwich from a local gourmet farm market, before my eye doctor appt. I could have bought plain chicken salad, but I got a chicken salad sandwich, as I was really craving it, and I know that it's better to give in, when I feel sick. I sat outside and ate.
D: grilled scallops and tomatoes/capers, with a salad. another craving, so I had a small amount of some ice cream that was in the freezer.

Crankin - hope you feel better soon!

Yesterday was a true rest day - as tempting as it was to play with my KB herd at home. That is THE (only) disadvantage of having my own kettlebell herd! Thankfully they are far less expensive than bikes

    Yesterday:

B: roasted chicken thigh, 1 slice nitrate-free bacon, spinach sauteed with pine nuts in coconut oil, coffee with cream
L: more chicken in a large spinach/butter lettuce salad with more veggies, pecans and raisins. A drizzle of EVOO for dressing. Fresh strawberries for dessert
S: Coffee and a Quest bar
D: Trader Joe's jalapeno chicken sausage, more sauteed greens, 1/2 avocado, the last slice of bacon), baked butternut squash

Got closer to my calorie targets for the day, close enough for me.
