High-vis pink rear rack and basket!

So I did a project today in commemoration of sending off my full prospectus draft.

I'm leaving for Toronto for a couple of days (well, about a week and a half) and then Ottawa two days after, so I dolled up my bike a bit. I wanted to paint my rear rack but this time BRIGHT colors. I went with pink high vis for the sake of drivers around me and also decided to paint the new folding basket I bought for shopping and getting around Ottawa. They came out pretty darn cool! She looks funky Took her out for a spin to the grocery and back tonight and boy can you see it in lower light! I'm kinda in love with it.

Anyone else paint their rear rack a funky color?

That is cool! I have just a plain black rear rack but now I'm tempted to paint it electric blue...

Do it! You can always repaint it easily. Make sure you prime first!

Mine was plain metal but I had put some sparkle rustoleum on it that died ages ago.

Thanks. I was sick of the old look. Time for a change And I still will be putting my work pannier on the other side but I do like the fold-away basket on one side of commuting clothing that doesn't fit or for a grocery run or a pop down the street.

Totally Kewl!!! I find that having an unusual profile gets me noticed earlier, all the time (I have to adapt when I ride a "normal" looking bike).

I have found that to be the case, too, with bright accessories. People can't miss a girl on a green and pink bike unless they are totally oblivious, I think.

I used Rustoleum paint and primer. Regular spray paint. Dries fast and works well.
