    I found this - haven't bought it yet - but it looks like a really nifty solution:

    Spoke magnets creating enough induction current to keep a couple LEDs going.

    Do you think it flashes the way the animation shows? That would be annoying - especially on the front.

    Yes, they would flash. And the rate of flash would be dependent on your speed. I did notice, though, that you can buy extra magnets to improve performance.

    My beef is that the lights would be off at stops. NO chance for drivers to see you then.

    I love the geek factor, though. I might have to get some & have DH rig some sort of battery to solve both problems.
