DH and i do them in the winter. HIs never used conference table in the home office is a great spot.
We are looking for folks to trade puzzles with. You would think there would be a puzzle exchange out there, but I guess not.

I think I have a different mind. I never enjoyed jigsaw puzzles even as a kid.

But then, you're talking to someone who seldom played card games like euchre and poker.

My partner and I used to have a tradition. Every fall we'd buy a new jigsaw puzzle (never less than 1000 pieces) and we'd put it together during the holiday season. Haven't done that in the last couple of years. We always ordered our puzzle from White Mountain.

I like to do those but online. Never the real ones anymore. No risks losing parts (cats love those too, especially munching on them - arggg), and I can play anywhere.

We do one every Christmas at the family homestead. It's a nice tradition--we stay up late and talk and fit the pieces together. One time my brother and I got my father to sit with us and tell us stories about when he was a kid. This year I am hoping my niece will take an active hand in the activity.

Tom and I love jigsaw puzzles. Especially in the winter or when injured.

I'd be up for some kind of exchange.

Wahine, I will be in touch at some point!
I have another friend I just found out will trade... at $25 each or so, the more ways to share the better. We maybe do 3 a winter?

My mom gave us this one last year... omg, it was so hard! All the paint has the same texture, and all the colors are the same through out the whole thing. But we did finally get it down.

I have one that is a photo of the ceiling of the Sistine chapel. The name is Ceitling Cappella Sistina - Vaticano, 1500 pieces and freaking impossible. We've already spent hours on it. Each time we set it up, we end up tearing it down with only one quater of it done because it takes us that long just to do that and eventually we need the horizontal space for something else. Oy Vey.

I like doing them sometimes, but I try to keep them 1000 pieces or less (preferably less). My grandmother was the one who loved them. Before she got bad with Alzhiemers (sp) she always was putting one together. My biggest issue if I can't get it done with in an afternoon I loose interest, and then run the risk of one of the cats deciding the pieces are to play with.

My parents had a 1000-piece one that was an illustration from a children's book called Brambly Hedge. We made it a tradition to get it out around Christmas, clear everything off the coffee table in the living room and put it together over two or three afternoons. It was usually Mom and me, though. My sister would usually get bored.
At least I don't leave slime trails.
